Our story

Hi, we're Maps for Good, a place-based visual storytelling team in northern California. We make maps that visualize and empower the work of better-world initiatives. Mapping the future Patagonia National Park is our flagship project. Thanks for checking it out!

In the field

We spent the austral summer of 2013 in the field collecting the geographic data, photographs, sounds, and knowledge that went into this project. It was a journey of exhiliration, sweat, cold, wind, laughs, scree, sore feet, an icy tent, warm sleeping bags, a lot of lamb stew, hard work, and perseverance. You can read more on our blog here.

What we do

For most of us, when we think about maps, we just think about navigation. Instead, let's start thinking about a map as a canvas for telling a story—a tool that can bring a place to life. That's what we do at Maps for Good, and that's what makes us different. We make one-of-a-kind maps that visualize the work of better-world initiatives. Our clients are organizations that want to showcase their impact, tell their story, and connect people with places. Our maps promote our clients' good work.
As we move forward, we're working with conservation initiatives and social enterprises to develop fresh, beautiful visuals that stand out from the crowd and engage new audiences.
